High school volleyball roundup: All the Rowan SPC teams win on Wednesday

All four Rowan teams in the South Piedmont Conference appear to be headed to the 3A state playoffs.
That includes West Rowan. The Falcons are only 7-9 overall after sweeping at Concord on Wednesday, but their early non-conference schedule was stout and their strength of schedule is helped by playing lots of games against the four winning teams above them in the SPC standings, including unbeaten Lake Norman Charter. West is 24th in the 3A West MaxPreps rankings, and 32 teams will be make the 3A West bracket.
The strongest Rowan team is Carson. The Cougars are 16-5 overall, have won all of their county games and are 11-1 in the SPC. They are ranked eighth in 3A West. Carson breezed to another sweep on Wednesday at Robinson.
South Rowan (14-4, 10-3) is third in the SPC standings, while East Rowan (16-7, 8-4) is fourth, but East’s non-conference schedule has been a little stronger. MaxPreps has the Mustangs 13th in the 3A West rankings, with South 14th.
South had no trouble with SPC opponent Central Cabarrus on Wednesday, winning 25-13, 25-11 and 25-9,
Meredith Faw had six kills, four aces and 10 digs for the Raiders. Laney Beaver had six kills and six assists. Campbell Wither had nine digs. Meghan Eagle had nine assists. Raegan Shell had six assists.
East Rowan went outside the league on Wednesday and swept A.L. Brown in Kannapolis, although it was a competitive sweep — 26-24, 25-19 and 25-17.
The Wonders (6-11) did some digging. Elisa Landaverde had 15, while Laney Morton and Katie Morton had 14 each.
Cameron Ostle powered the Mustangs with 17 kills. Leigan Lusk had nine.
Jacee Eudy had three aces. Kady Collins and Ella Lowry had three blocks each.
All Corl led in digs with 19. Jordan Dry had 15, while Ostle had 14, and Brooklyn Buck had 13.
Eudy had 28 assists.
