SALISBURY — On any visit to Trinity Living Center (TLC) in Salisbury, the first thing you notice is the joy and contentment on participants’ faces. Lutheran Services Carolinas’ nonprofit adult day program provides enriching, meaningful activities and fellowship for seniors and others who need a safe place during the day while their loved ones work or care for themselves.

Every other year, local artists capture this serenity in a series of fine art portraits, Faces of Trinity Living Center, which are exhibited to the public and gifted to participants’ families.

And this year, Salisbury is in for a special treat: the Faces of Trinity Living Center exhibition will open at TLC’s Expressions of Wisdom Gala on Oct. 11, followed by a monthlong display at the Waterworks Visual Arts Center.

“Beth (Huber, TLC’s current executive director) has put together such a special evening,” said exhibition organizer Barbara Garwood, who conceived the first Faces collection and celebration in 2006 while serving as TLC’s executive director. “TLC is the best kept secret in town. It’s not just a safe place to be; it offers a very high level of care, including bathing, a beauty shop and a full-time nurse. We hope the gala will raise not only funds to support TLC but also awareness of what the program offers.”

The Expressions of Wisdom Gala will take place at Trinity Oaks independent living, 728 Klumac Road, Salisbury, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails. Dinner and music follow at 6:30 p.m. Business attire is recommended.

Gala tickets are $50 per person or $275 for a table of six; they must be purchased by Friday, Sept. 27. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. For tickets or additional information, contact TLC Executive Director Beth Huber at bhuber@trinitylivingcenter.net or 704-637-3940.
