PHILADELPHIA — Livingstone’s longest football road trip of the season was a success on Saturday.

The Blue Bears edged Lincoln 15-14 in a CIAA game played in front of 1,212 fans at Lions Stadium in Philadelphia.

Livingstone (3-2, 1-1) won by making three interceptions and getting three field goals by Jason Zapata.

Livingstone’s only touchdown, Zorian Wallace’s 28-yard pass to Chris Brown in the middle of the third quarter, decide the game for the Blue Bears.

Isiah Freeman provided most of the positive plays for Lincoln. The quarterback had a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown for the Lions.

Zapata’s first field goal gave the Blue Bears a lead, but a big-play TD by Freeman gave Lincoln a 7-3 lead.

Two more Zapata field goals put the Blue Bears ahead 9-7.

Freeman finished a 91-yard drive by Lincoln (0-4, 0-3) with a 1-yard run with 36 seconds left in the half for a 14-9 Lincoln lead.

But Livingstone’s defense slammed the door in the second half, pitching a shutout, and the Blue Bears were able to make the big play they needed to win the game.

Livingstone’s defense got a stop in the final minute at the Livingstone 18-yard-line.

JyMikaah Wells (Salsibury) rushed for 23 yards on three carries.

Lincoln moves on to a non-conference game against Morgan State in Baltimore.

Livingstone will be at home next Saturday and will take on CIAA rival Elizabeth City State at 4 p.m.
