Traffic stop leads to arrest for weapons possession
On Sept. 29 at 2:08 a.m., a Rowan County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle for having a fictitious license plate. When the deputy approached the driver, the man told the officer he did not have his license but gave him his license number. The man was identified as Timothy Nikolaos Hoke, 35, and it was discovered his license was revoked, and that there were warrants for his arrest out of Lincoln County for violation of a domestic violence order and failure to pay child support. He was also wearing several layers of clothing including a bullet-proof vest. The deputy did find Hoke was carrying several knives and a handgun. The serial number on the gun showed it was stolen from Conover, NC.
Hoke was arrested and charged with the two outstanding warrant of violation of a protective order and two counts of failure to appear as well as carrying a concealed gun, having a fictitious license plate, possession of a stolen firearm and driving with a revoked/suspended license. He was given a $22,000 bond and has a court date of Oct. 21.

• A larceny from a motor vehicle on Leach Road reportedly occurred between 4 and 5:40 p.m. Sept. 29.
• A larceny of automobile accessories from Briggs Road reportedly occurred between 10:20 p.m. Sept. 22 and midnight Sept. 24, The incident was reported Sept. 29.
• A larceny from a motor vehicle on Overbrook Road reportedly occurred between 8 p.m. Sept. 28 and 10:50 p.m. Sept. 29.
• Christopher Scott Parson, 33, was arrested Sept. 29 and charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
