Back Creek Presbyterian Church Hosts Harvest Run 5K for Disaster Relief on Saturday

The First Annual Back Creek Presbyterian Church Harvest Run 5K and Fun Run, presented by the Knox-Brown Women’s Circle of Back Creek Church. All proceeds will go to Mission to North America (PCA) Disaster Response in western N.C. The church is located at 2145 Back Creek Church Road in Mount Ulla. Monetary donations will be accepted throughout the event.
Come run, jog or walk through one of the most beautiful areas in Rowan County. Then enjoy amazing pancakes and sausage free to all participants and volunteers, with additional plates available for sale or donation to spectators.
The 5K starts at 9 a.m. and the half-mile fun run will follow at about 9:45 a.m. Both courses are scenic loops near the historic church. Cost for the 5K is $30 and the fun run is $10 on runsignup.com. Race day registration is $35 for the 5K and $15 for the fun run and will continue from 7:45 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. The fun run has an optional shirt purchase for $8 but all 5K participants get a long-sleeve commemorative dri-fit T-shirt.
Awards are as follows — 5K: Top 3 overall male and female as well as top three in each age group. Male and female: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over
Fun Run (9 and under): Top 3 overall.
Timing, scoring and course measurement by Salisbury Rowan Runners. Parking is available at the church, where both the start and finish are located. West Rowan Fire Department will provide course traffic and safety control.
