High school volleyball roundup: Hornets sweep; East battles LNC

LEXINGTON — Salisbury’s volleyball team won 25-8, 25-18 and 25-16 for a road sweep at Lexington on Thursday.
The Hornets (9-7, 8-2) are on their way to a second-place finish in the 1A/2A Central Carolina Conference. Salisbury will be favored in games next week against South Davidson and North Rowan to finish the regular season.
Ashley Yang had 27 assists and went over 2,200 for her career. She has 933 digs and is making progress toward another milestone.
Ava Morris had four aces, 13 kills and nine digs. She has 983 career kills.
Addie Myers had five kills and 11 digs. Dayami Acevedo had four aces and 16 digs.
Kyliah Pearson-Hasty had nine digs against the Yellow Jackets (7-7, 4-5).
Salisbury is 26th in the 2A West RPI rankings.

GRANITE QUARRY — Lake Norman Charter won 3-1 at East Rowan on Thursday — 25-22, 25-22, 26-28, 25-23.
The Knights got 15 kills each from Finley Fay and London Stewart and were able to basically stay tied for first in the South Piedmont Conference with Carson. Both have one loss.
Cameron Ostle and Alli Corl had 13 kills each for the Mustangs. Leigan Lusk had 12.
Ella Lowry had five blocks. Kady Collins had three.
Ostle had 23 digs. Jordan Drye had 20. Jacee Eudy had 14, with Corl getting 12 and Madalynn Tigert 10.
Eudy had 38 assists.
Drye and Ostle were big in serve-receive.
