Blotter for Oct. 4: Salisbury business victim in $35,000 embezzlement

SALISBURY — According to reports from the Salisbury Police Department, officers responded to Allergy Partners of Salisbury, located at 420 Mocksville Ave. on Sept. 30 shortly after noon to “keep the peace” while the business terminated an employee.
The reports indicate that the business owner believes the employee may have committed fraudulent charges, starting in January and ending in September. The total estimated loss in the report was $35,000.
An email from the SPD said that the investigation continues to verify work-related charges against personal charges.
In Salisbury Police Department reports
• An officer took a report of fraud in the 100 block of S. Avalon Drive on Sept. 30. The total estimated loss was $49.
• An assault reportedly occurred in the 800 block of E. Innes Street around 5:15 p.m on Sept. 30.
• A previous sexual assault reportedly occurred between 2 a.m. on Sept. 30 and 1:02 a.m. on Oct. 1.
• A motor vehicle theft was attempted in the 1000 block of Bryce Avenue between 2-2:02 a.m. on Oct. 1.
• Larceny reportedly occurred in the 500 block of East Innes Street around 5:29 a.m. on Oct. 1.
• Officers seized an offender reportedly in the act of breaking into cars in the 400 block of Prescot Drive around 10:37 a.m. on Oct. 1.
• A robbery with a firearm reportedly occurred in the 800 block of Laurel Pointe Circle around 12:13 p.m. on Oct. 1.
• Miscellaneous property was found in the 1900 block of Jake Alexander Boulevard W between 2:10-2:12 p.m. on Oct. 1.
• A worthless check for $2,495 was taken in the 1000 block of Mooresville Road between 2:20 p.m. on Sept. 17 and 2:20 p.m. on Sept. 19.
• A report of larceny from a motor vehicle reportedly occurred in the 1600 block of Parkview Circle around 2:56 p.m. on Oct. 2. The total estimated loss was $50.
• Larceny reportedly occurred in the 900 block of Jake Alexander Boulevard S. around 7:31 p.m. on Oct. 2. The total estimated loss was $39.
• Credit card fraud reportedly occurred in the 1500 block of Jake Alexander Boulevard S. between 11 p.m. on Sept. 29 and 6 p.m. on Oct. 2. The total estimated loss was $100.
• Joshua Marcquese Byrd, 20, was charged with felony larceny of a firearm on Sept. 30.
• Tamike Lasheigh Burleson, 32, was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia on Oct. 1.
• Tkeyah Margine Shaver, 30, was charged with simple assault/battery or affray on Oct. 1.
• William Jamel Clodfelter, 38, was charged with misdemeanor larceny on Oct. 2.
• Lewis Howard Hughes, 35, was charged with misdemeanor larceny on Oct. 2.
• Mandashia Shameese Steele, 32, was charged with simple assault/battery or affray on Oct. 2.
• Shonda Michelle Ford, 45, was charged with second-degree trespass on Oct. 3.
In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports
• Fraud occurred on Needmore Road in Woodleaf between 6 p.m. on Sept. 30 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 1.
• Stolen property was recovered on Hannah Ferry Road in Salisbury around 7:47 a.m. on Oct. 1.
• Vandalism causing property damage occurred in China Grove between 8 a.m. and noon on Oct. 1.
• David Shane Smith, 44, was charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and uttering a forged instrument on Oct. 1.
• Kimbrelle Dawnshae Blackwood, 29, was charged with felony flee to elude and driving while license revoked on Oct. 1.
