SALISBURY — Salisbury got goals from David Austin and Fletcher Busby in Monday’s 2-0 Central Carolina Conference win against Thomasville.

Sam Goodman had both assists for the Hornets (14-1-3, 7-0).

“He was clearly the man of the match,” Salisbury coach Matt Parrish said. “He was tremendous all night in the back, with a plethora of inexperienced players in front of him. We have some injury issues and were missing some players for some or all of the match.”

Danny Castillo, Samuel Fatovic, Isaac Rodriquez and Chris Diaz picked up the slack for injured players and held their own collectively on the outside.

Parrish has coached in 1,000 matches at Salisbury, including 329 as head boys coach and 404 as head girls coach. He has 261 wins as boys head coach and 302 as girls head coach.

Next up for the Hornets is West Davidson, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in Tyro.
