SALISBURY — Salisbury’s football team entertained a homecoming crowd and overwhelmed East Davidson 73-7 for a Central Carolina Conference victory on Friday.
The Hornets (7-1, 4-0) won their sixth in a row and scored 40 in the second half. They built their unusual total with 11 touchdowns and seven PATs.
Jay’lin Johnson scored four touchdowns, two on receptions and two on kickoff returns.
After East Davidson scored late in the second quarter, Johnson housed the kickoff. Then the sprinter returned the second-half kickoff 80 yards to push Salisbury’s lead to 40-7.
Johnson has scored 12 touchdowns. He has nine receiving TDs and three on special teams.
