High school boys soccer: Hornets romp

SALISBURY — Salisbury’s boys soccer team stayed undefeated in the Central Carolina Conference with Thursday’s 9-0 romp against South Davidson.
The Hornets (16-1-3, 8-0) got goals from nine different players. Every player on the team has scored this season.
First career goals were scored by freshmen Isaac Rodriguez, Lucas Webb and Luke Fowler and Chris Diaz, a sophomore playing his first year with the team.
Henry Austin, Kevin Reyes and goalkeeper Finnegan Avery scored their first goals of the season.
Also scoring were Fletcher Busby and Mohammed Jabateh.
Sam Goodman had two assists on his birthday. Hines Busby and David Austin also had two each.
Reyes, Webb and Taki Cook had one assist.

Next up for the Hornets is Lexington at home on Monday night. It will be Senior Night. The Hornets will celebrate the careers of David Austin and Hines Busby.
Salisbury is fifth in the 2A West RPI rankings.
Seeds and pairings for the playoffs will be announced on Nov. 7, with the playoffs starting on Nov. 9.
