RCCC honors Excellence in Teaching Award winner: Brad Scott recognized for innovative teaching methods, commitment to student success

SALISBURY — Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is delighted to announce Brad Scott as the recipient of the 2023-2024 Excellence in Teaching Award. This prestigious award is given to faculty who demonstrate exceptional teaching skills, commitment to student success and dedication to the mission of the college.
Brad Scott, a full-time economics instructor since January 2022, has been recognized for his outstanding educational achievements. Currently pursuing a doctorate in business administration with a focus on econometric analysis of American reproductive health trends, Scott brings a wealth of knowledge and innovative techniques to his classroom.
“I am honored to receive this award,” Scott said. “I am grateful for the chance to be part of their journey and make a difference in the lives of students. Seeing their growth and success is incredibly rewarding, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to contribute to their academic and personal development.”
According to a release from her school, Scott’s teaching philosophy centers on “delivering relevant and impactful knowledge” for students. He reportedly “integrates cutting-edge educational technologies into his lessons and actively engages in scholarly research,” demonstrating a commitment to student success and the academic community as a whole.

Spalding, president of Rowan-Cabarrus. “His dedication to providing a student-centered learning experience and his commitment to advancing his field through scholarly work make him an exceptional choice for this award. The Excellence in Teaching Award exemplifies Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s mission to support faculty who set new standards for teaching and learning. Recipients of this award demonstrate a deep commitment to student success and play a vital role in driving the College’s continued growth.
