Drive by shooting damages home
A drive-by shooting at a property on Long Branch Road occurred just before 10 p.m. Oct. 19, according to Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
“Approximately 12 shots struck the residence in what described as a “drive by” style shooting,” said Chief Deputy Jason Owens, “There is a suspect in the case and it is still under investigation and has been assigned to our detective division.” No one was injured in the incident.

• Paul Matthew Carter, 44, was arrested Oct. 17 and charged with assault intending to inflict physical injury to a detention center employee.
• Tysheim Naeshawn Forney, 19, was arrested Oct. 17 and charged with two counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
• Alonzo Ivery Gibson Jr., 49, was arrested Oct. 19 and charged with possession of a controlled substance on a penal institution premises.
• David Mitchell Whitmire, 41, was arrested Oct. 19 and charged with possession of weapons by a felon, possession of stolen goods and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Shania Marie Dixon, 40, was arrested Oct. 19 and charged with possession of stolen goods and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Jerry Dean Sadler, 45, was arrested Oct. 19 and charged with trafficking in drugs, maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for controlled substance, possession of schedule III controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia
• Anna Brooke Hipp, 33, was arrested Oct. 19 and charged with trafficking in drugs, maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for controlled substance, possession of a schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Anthony James Sadler, 21, was arrested Oct. 19 and charged with trafficking in heroin or opium and maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for controlled substance,
• Thomas Alexander, 28, was arrested Oct. 19 and charged with trafficking in heroin or opium, maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for controlled substances, possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering with or reconnecting a utility meter.
• John Dood Rakowski, 25, was arrested Oct. 19 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
