CHINA GROVE — More than 200 children and their families made their way to the Rowan Public Library’s South Branch in China Grove on Saturday, Oct. 19, for the second annual Fall Fest.
The event is meant to be a celebration of autumn with an afternoon of games, cake walks, storytime, snacks, crafts and prizes. It ran from 1-4 p.m. and halfway through, more than 150 had already signed in, according to staff.
In addition, Friends of the Library were on hand to explain what they do and to sample what they have to offer at Second Saturday Bookshop, open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month in the West End Plaza, Salisbury.
“The annual Family Fall Fest was created to bring the community into the library for fun and games, and then show them all the resources that are available to them,” Branch Operations Manager Brooke Taylor said prior to the event.
