SALISBURY — Eighth-seeded Salisbury won 6-0 over West Stokes in Wednesday’s second round of the 2A dual team tennis state playoffs.

Lucy Barr, Meredith Williams, Addison Griffith, Lola Koontz, Anna Kate Goodman and Gabriella Fatovic won singles matches. Doubles weren’t needed.

The Hornets got a tough draw. They’ll head to No. 1 seed Hendersonville next Monday.

West Rowan ended a strong season with an 8-0 loss to Atkins in the second round of the 3A state playoffs on Wednesday. South Rowan’s successful season ended with a long trip and  a 9-0 loss to Franklin in the second round.

Individual championships will be decided this weekend. First-round pairings have been announced.

Salisbury has two doubles teams in the 2A event in Holly Springs. Carson’s Allie Martin qualified in 3A singles.
