College football: Georgia Tech’s Biggers invited to play in Shrine game

ATLANTA — Former West Rowan standout Zeek Biggers, a 6-foot-6 defensive lineman, has been invited to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl Game.
The 100th edition of the prestigious all-star game will take place on Jan. 30 in Arlington, Texas. The game will be televised on the NFL Network.
The game and the practices leading up to it are a showcase for NFL scouts, who can watch all-stars competing against players of similar size and talent.
A senior majoring in business administration, Biggers has started the last 22 games for the Yellow Jackets (5-4). He blocked a field goal in Saturday’s 21-6 loss at Virginia Tech.
He’s been credited with 18 tackles this season. He’s blocked two kicks, batted down two passes and recovered a fumble.
