The Salisbury Elks #699 and American Red Cross held its fall blood drive at the lodge on Oct. 18.
A total of 19 donors and 12 volunteers teamed up to participate in the “Make the Right Play” event.
Kathy Ender, Lodge Chaplain and volunteer liaison for the blood drive was pleased with the successful results and grateful to everyone who helped make a positive difference, especially now.
“The need for blood is even greater because of Hurricanes Helene and Milton,” Ender said. “Although we didn’t have our full quota of 24, our net products were higher than previous drives. No blood was turned down.”
A total of 21 units including 4 Power Red and 17 whole blood products were collected. The lodge served lunch and refreshments during the afternoon. Donors also received a $10 Amazon Ecard from the American Red Cross.
