College athletics: South stars sign with SAC schools

LANDIS — South Rowan senior athletes Marshal Faw and Kynlee Dextraze signed recently to play college athletics in the South Atlantic Conference.

Dextraze, a power-hitting infielder, had been committed to Lenoir-Rhyne’s softball program for a year and made it official with the Bears.

Faw, an outfielder/right-hander pitcher with excellent speed and a lively fastball, verbally committed to Catawba baseball on Aug. 1 and has made it official.

Carson announced that pitcher/infielder Corbin Hales has committed to Methodist University.

South Rowan’s Meredith Faw signed with Caldwell Community College’s volleyball program.

West Rowan shortstop Brice Knox signed with Surry Community College baseball.
