ROCKWELL — The churches of Rockwell will hold its annual community Thanksgiving service at Grace Lower Stone Reformed Church on Nov. 24 at 2:30 p.m.

Everyone in Rowan and Cabarrus counties is invited to come and join in praising God for His manifold blessings throughout this past year. The festivities will begin with a concert played by the Windsong Recorder Ensemble, followed by the 3 p.m. celebration of Holy Communion. The service is sponsored by the congregations of Rockwell Methodist, St. James’ Lutheran, Ursinus United Church of Christ, Immanuel Lutheran, Organ Lutheran and Grace Lower Stone Reformed churches.

Pastor Robin Keating will preach, Pastor Bruce Sheeks will be the liturgist and Pastor Kevin Sloop will be celebrating Holy Communion.

Grace Lower Stone has served southeastern Rowan County for 274 years, and the church’s 229-year-old rock house of worship is the oldest church building in continuous use in the county.
