SALISBURY — The Rowan County Board of Commissioners will select the chairman and vice-chairman of the board for the upcoming year during the meeting on Monday.

Every year in December, the commissioners select which members of the board will fill the two leadership positions for the next year. This year, Greg Edds served as chairman of the board after being elected unanimously. Jim Greene served as vice-chairman for 2023 after also being elected unanimously.

The meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Monday and will be held at the Rowan County Administration Building located at 130 W. Innes St. in Salisbury. The other agenda items that will be discussed include:

• The commissioners will hear about citizens who applied for membership of local advisory boards and potentially approve their appointments.
