Two residential fires broke out on Tuesday on Old Concord Road, one at 2505 at about 10 a.m. just outside the Salisbury city limits and one at 1404 Old Concord Road, just behind Breakfast Time restaurant, at about 8 p.m.

The earlier fire involved a propane tank that was set away from the house, but according to an official, from the initial caller’s perspective, the fire looked like it involved the back of the house.

No one was displaced by that fire.

The nighttime fire caused “significant damage” to the house at 1404 Old Concord Road, according to Fire Chief Bob Parnell, who said a preliminary search found no one inside the residence, and there were no reports of injuries.

When firefighters arrived they found a substantial working fire “with fire blowing out of the back and the front of the home at the same time” said Parnell.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the fire marshal, Parnell said.
