SALISBURY — A Christmas play, presented by Thomasina Cuthbertson and entitled “Christmas in Da Hood,” will be performed at Second Presbyterian Church, 732 Lincolnton Road, Salisbury on Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. Cost is $10 cash at the door.

Playwright and director Donald Gray, who has roots to Rowan County as he is a native of Woodleaf, wrote this production.

Those performing and their roles will include Timothy Bridges as Usher, Ni Kamron Warren as Snoop Dog, Sanaa Watkins as Jessica, Zana Smyre as Beyoncé, Rev. Timothy Bates as Papa Dre, Stephanie Bruce and Ms. Jazzy, Miriam Keller as Ms. Elliot, Mary Steltz as Latifah, Chris Sherrill as Santa Cool, Teanna Cuthbertson as J-Lo and Pastor James Harley as the cab driver.

On Dec. 15, the church will have Christmas dinner following worship service. Santa Claus will be there as well.
