The 10th Annual Cruise-By Window Art Show is officially open through Jan. 6, featuring Christmas and recently painted window artwork by local artist Cherrathee Hager. The window art is at seven locations in the Salisbury-Rowan area, and is available for viewing 24 hours a day.
Hager has been window painting on local business and residence windows for 24 years. She enjoys painting whimsical characters that create happiness and smiles and can be enjoyed by everyone. Families love making photos and creating memories with the characters.
Hager paints windows throughout the year for a wide variety of occasions, special events and promotions. This past year, she has painted numerous murals. She was one of five Plein Air artists commissioned by Catawba College to paint the Omwake Dearborne Chapel as gifts for retiring board of trustees members.
As a part of her public art paintings in Salisbury, Hager was selected to participate in the Paint The Pavement Project in the Railwalk Arts District. She painted one of five crosswalks at the intersection of East Kerr and North Lee streets and the Farmer’s Market crosswalk.
