DURHAM – Sophomore guard Kyla Bryant’s jumper with three seconds remaining gave the North Carolina Central University women’s basketball team its second straight win, a 77-76 victory over Furman on Monday in McDougald-McLendon Arena.
The Eagles are now 2-12 on the season.
Freshman guard Shakiria Foster led N.C. Central with a career-high 24 points, going 9-for-13 from the floor and draining three 3-pointers. She’s scored in double figures in four straight, including two straight 20-point efforts. Bryant, who starred at Salisbury High, added 22 points, behind eight field goals and three treys, while also dishing out a career-high nine assists.
Bryant has scored at least 20 in back-to-back games.
