SALISBURY — The Salisbury Elks Lodge No. 699 and Salisbury Parks and Recreation will host the annual Elks National Hoop Shoot free throw contest on Sunday, Jan. 12,  at 2:00 p.m. at Hall Gym, 1400-B West Bank St. in Salisbury.

The event is free and open to boys and girls, ages 8-13 (as of April 1, 2025).

Trophies will be awarded for first and second place in each division.

First-place winners in each of the six divisions advance to the district competition on Saturday, Jan. 25 in Winston-Salem.

District winners will compete in the State Hoop Shoot Championship in Greensboro on Saturday, Feb. 8.

The regional competition is slated for March 9 leading to the National Championship Finals in Chicago on April 26.
