Sheriff’s Office K9 catches car thief

On Dec. 23, Salisbury police were involved in the pursuit of Michael Israel Jones for stealing a car. Jones wrecked the vehicle on southbound I-85 at  East Innes Street, but jumped out of the vehicle and ran. Salisbury Police were joined by Rowan County Sheriff’s deputies and their K9 officer, who tracked and found Jones.

Jones was taken into custody and charged by Salisbury police with felony flee to elude, possession of stolen motor vehicle, resist/obstruct/delay of an officer, and felony larceny of a motor vehicle.

• A report of property damage from vandalism and a larceny from Spring Meadow Drive, Woodleaf reportedly occurred between 8 p.m. Dec. 25 and 6 a.m. Dec. 26.

• A larceny from a motor vehicle on Aviation Lane, Gold Hill reportedly occurred between 9:30 p.m. and 11:15 a.m. Dec. 26.

• A burglary at Pine Ridge Road, China Grove reportedly occurred between 9 and 9:10 a.m. Dec. 25.

• A larceny from Foster Road, Cleveland reportedly occurred between 8 p.m. Dec. 25 and 4:20 p.m. Dec. 26.

• A burglary on North Cannon Boulevard, Kannapolis reportedly occurred betwee noon and 2:14 p.m. Dec. 27.

• An assault on Airport Road reportedly occurred about 7:05 p.m. Dec. 27.

• Demmanuelle Tyyan Fincher, 28, was arrested Dec. 26 and charged with misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.

• Paul Curtis Loflin, 49, was arrested Dec. 26 and charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, resist/obstruct/delay of an officer and communicating threats against an officer.

• Jenny Lynn Chamberlain, 69, was arrested Dec. 27 and charged with violation of a county ordinance, failure to appear and habitual felon.

• Rosendo Eleazar Cardona, 24, was arrested Dec. 27 and charged with assault on a female and crime of domestic violence.

• Chandler Bryan Kluttz, 31, was arrested Dec. 27 and charged with larceny.

• An assault on Cranberry Way reportedly occurred about 1:20 p.m. Dec. 27.

• Property damage from a hit and run on Statesville Boulevard reportedly occurred about 5:31 p.m. Dec. 27.

• A theft of a motor vehicle from Motts Powersports on North Main Street reportedly occurred between 3:30 p.m. Sept. 15 and 9 a.m. Dec. 20, and was reported Dec. 27.

• A motor vehicle theft on Wiltshire Road reportedly occurred between 9:03 p.m. Dec. 27 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 28.

• Vandalism at Blue Bay Restaurant on Marriott Circle reportedly occurred between 7:27 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. Dec. 28.

• A larceny of automobile accessories from Lincolnton Road reportedly occurred between noon and 12:30 p.m. Dec. 28.

• Property damage on West C Avenue reportedly occurred about 1:35 p.m. Dec. 28.

• Property damage from a hit and run on Jake Alexander Boulevard West reportedly occurred about 6 p.m. Dec. 28.

• A larceny from West Lafayette Street reportedly occurred between 8 and 8:15 p.m. Dec. 28.

• A burglary on Old Concord Road reportedly occurred between 6 and 6:18 a.m. Dec. 29.

• Vandalism at Circle K on East Innes Street reportedly occurred about 9:25 a.m. Dec. 29.

• A larceny at Salisbury Business Center on South Main Street reportedly occurred between 1:10 and 11:54 a.m. Dec. 29.

• Micah Sample, 23, was arrested Dec. 27 and charged on five outstanding warrants and with assault on a female by a male over the age of 18 and misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.

• Aalyiah Antonia Hopper, 21, was arrested Dec. 27 and charged on an outstanding warrant.

• Januya Johnella Black, 21, was arrested Dec. 27 and charged with simple assault and battery or affray and misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.

• Willie James Collins, 64, was arrested Dec. 27 and charged with misdemeanor larceny.

• Jeffrey Scott Clegg, 55, was arrested Dec. 28 and charged with obtaining property by false pretenses.

• Jonathan Joshua Boger, 26, was arrested Dec. 29 and charged with assault on a female by a male over the age of 18.

• Masakala Tajeem Johnson, 33, was arrested Dec. 29 and charged with resist/obstruct/delay of an officer and vandalism to real property/willful and wanton injury.
