Staff report
Former West Rowan athlete and retired Navy SEAL Jovon Quarles will be back on television on Wednesday in Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
It’s the third season for the program, and the second season for Quarles. It’s a five-week series.
Quarles is one of the instructors responsible for pushing celebrity “recruits” through strenuous training similar to what special forces operatives endure. The other instructors are Rudy Reyes, a former United States Recon Marine; Jason Fox, a former SBS operator, and Billy Billingham, an ex-SAS sergeant major.
The cast of celebrities will include, among others, former NFL QB Cam Newton, former track star Marion Jones, actress Denise Richards and actor Stephen Baldwin.
Tests will include jumping off bridges and out of helicopters and water immersion to the brink of drowning.
Season 3 is set in Wales, which provides water and harsh landscapes. The season premiere is on FOX on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 8 p.m..
