Who knew we had such talent so close by? Kannapolis resident Eric Melton’s natural gift at drawing surfaced when he was just a kindergartener. Encouraged and coached over the years by family members and teachers, Melton developed a signature style of caricature artistry that has won him awards and nationwide recognition.

He has performed his magic for audiences at Charlotte Hornets’ games, Carowinds, and Family Kingdom in Myrtle Beach. He’s done caricatures of famous folks like Jeff Bridges, Anjelica Huston… and both Richard Pryor and Howie Mandel have Melton’s images of them in their homes. His artwork has even been commissioned for an upcoming Amazon-MGM rom-com starring Zooey Deschanel and filmed in Wilmington and Kure Beach!

But caricatures are NOT cartoons. You’ll learn the difference by attending the English-Speaking Union’s January 23rd dinner program… AND win the chance to walk away with your own masterpiece! We’ll draw the names of four lucky attendees and Melton will sketch you on the spot!

The event will take place at the Country Club of Salisbury with cocktails at 6:30, dinner at 7, and the program at 8. Cost is $50/pp for ESU members, $70/pp for non-members.
