Weather alert for snow and black ice in central North Carolina until Monday morning

A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Sunday at 3:27 p.m. for snow and black ice until Monday at 10 a.m. The alert is for Person, Granville, Vance, Warren, Halifax, Forsyth, Guilford, Alamance, Orange, Durham, Davidson and Randolph counties.

“Temperatures today allowed for additional melting of snow and ice. The snow and ice that did melt created runoff that will quickly freeze this evening. The temperatures will fall below 32 between sunset and 8 p.m. Be extra cautious especially when walking or driving on sidewalks, parking lots, bridges and overpasses tonight through Monday morning,” states the NWS.
