New date set for library’s adventure-themed event

SALISBURY — When the prediction of inclement weather came last week, several changes were made to some scheduled events in the Rowan County area.

One such change was with the RPL Headquarters’ “Go on an Adventure in 2025” event, which has been postponed until Feb. 1.

All event activities, including passport services from the Rowan County Register of Deeds office, travel presentations and the travel-themed storytime, will take place as planned on this date.

This celebration of travel, which will feature activities for all ages, will be held at the Rowan Public Library headquarters, 201 West Fisher Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In a previous article, Julia Butner, program manager for the passports, said they were conducting these passport fairs “to try to reach out to folks who can’t make it Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.”

So they are helping people that work and are not able to get to the office and sign up for passports.

More information about the new event date will be shared via www.rowanpubliclibrary.org, as well as RPL’s Facebook, Instagram, and X pages.

To learn more about this program, contact reference librarian Libby Anderson at 704-216-8259.

For more information about passport requirements or to make or reschedule an appointment, call the Rowan

County Register of Deeds office directly at 704-216-8111. Appointments are encouraged but not required.
