James Taylor (no, not the singer) is an exceptional artist who, amazingly, lives right here in Rowan County.

He hasn’t showcased his artwork for many years, but, for a limited time, you can see his artistry at Heart of Salisbury (120 East Innes St.). The gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday, noon until 5 p.m.

You may have been dining at Sweet Meadow or visited a friend and noticed striking artwork on the wall. It was probably signed “James Taylor.” His paintings are inviting oils, both pleasant landscapes and animals rendered in bold colors. Many of his paintings are sure to make you smile; they all invite you “in” for a fresh connection with nature.

Taylor has a simple philosophy: “Art should talk to normal folks. I want my work to be accessible to everyone.”

Whether you would want one of his paintings for yourself or to give as a gift, his delight-filled scenes will bring a smile to your lips.

To see for yourself and/or for more information, you are invited to visit his website: jamesetaylorfineart.com.
