PFLAG is accepting scholarship applications

Earlier this week, PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) Salisbury-Rowan chapter announced that it is offering scholarship applications to local Rowan County high school seniors graduating this school year. The applications are open to any local senior in any Rowan County public, private and home school and RCCC Early College students.

This is the 17th year that scholarships have been offered through the PFLAG Salisbury-Rowan Scholarship Program.
Eligible applicants will be considered for the following scholarships:
- Anne Stanback — Charlotte Kinlock Scholarship: $1,000
- Bob Page Business Scholarship: $1,000
- Carol Williams-Swoope Social Justice Scholarship: $500
- Laurene C. Bralley Perseverance Scholarship: $1,000
- Ralph Ketner — Bill Stanback Equality Scholarship: $500
- Roger and Linda Hull Scholarship: $1,000
- Salisbury Pride — Salisbury Pride Founder’s Scholarship: $1,000
- Salisbury Pride — Scotty Ray Gilbert Scholarship: $1,000
The scholarships are available to graduating seniors who are continuing their education at a four-year college or university, community college or a vocational school. Other requirements are set forth in the application. Completed application packets should be mailed to the following address postmarked no later than March 1.
