Salisbury native earns doctoral degree

Chrystal Ingram Williams, a Salisbury native, has earned her doctor of education (Ed.D.) in higher education leadership from National University.

Ingram Williams is a graduate of Salisbury High School (1997) and North Carolina Central University (2001, 2004). Ingram Williams, daughter of Frances Ingram and the late Lardell Ingram, and goddaughter of Arthur and Connie Jones, successfully defended her dissertation, “Navigating Systemic Barriers and Leveraging Resilience for African American Students in Graduate Speech Pathology Programs.”

She is a clinical associate professor of communication sciences and disorders at NCCU.

Throughout her graduate studies, Ingram Williams achieved numerous academic honors, including graduating with high distinction, membership in Omega Nu Lambda, Golden Key, and Kappa Delta Pi honor societies, and consistent placement on the dean’s list.
