MOUNT ULLA — West Rowan’s male wrestlers rolled against Carson and Robinson to finish an undefeated South Piedmont Conference season.
The Falcons, coached by Jonathan Brown, went 7-0 in the league. They beat Carson 72-11 and also handled Robinson 65-8 in Wednesday’s home tri-match.
West had seven pins and accepted five forfeits in the victory against the Cougars.
Mason Truman (106), Oliver Perry (120), James Stephens (132), Hunter Ingram (165), Harry Hartwell (190), Dakota Athey (215) and Bryson Ellis (285) pinned Cougars. Chris Gaither (126), Stetson Collins (138), Kevin O’Brien (144) Andrew Taylor (150) and Holland Wellman (175) received forfeits.
Joseph Little won by tech fall at 113 pounds and Griffin Barber had a pin at 157 for Carson’s 11 points.
A number of Robinson Bulldogs were able to stay off their backs, but West racked up five lopsided wins by technical fall. The Falcons won four matches by pin, two by forfeit and one by major decision.
Taylor, Ingram, Athey and Ellis recorded the pins.
Truman, Collins, O’Brien, Wellman and Hartwell had the wins by tech fall.
Max Brown (157) won by major decision.
Bryson Wilhelm (113) and Perry had the wins by forfeit.
West will be making its 11th appearance in the dual team state playoffs.
Playoff pairings will be released by the NCHSAA on Jan. 30. The first two rounds will be held on Feb. 1.
