Letter: Give it up, Mr. Griffin

After losing last year’s State Supreme Court race, Republican Jefferson Griffin is asking the State Supreme Court to throw away the lawful votes of 60,000 North Carolinians and overturn the election. You can see if your vote is being challenged. https://terrymah.github.io/
Looking through the list is challenging, but there is a way to do a search by name or zip code, so I thought let me see how many voters from my community of Spencer are in danger of having their vote thrown out. There are 10, but then I thought, “why not look at the other 17 zip codes in Rowan County?”
There are 425 of your neighbors in Rowan County who are on the list of challenged voters. According to the tool, these voters showed their ID when they voted, but the form they filled out when they registered to vote does not have their driver’s license number or social security number.
Depending on when that form was originally filled out, the registration may not have asked for or required that identification number. Having worked for a company that printed forms for election boards across the state until I retired, I know that the forms changed almost of often as the winds changed direction.
Some of these voters have voted for years, even in every election, and never had any question about the validity of their ballot.
Multiple recounts and careful election audits confirmed that Justice Allison Riggs won. Throwing away these votes would set a dangerous precedent. Mr. Griffin has wasted time and taxpayers’ money. He lost the election and refuses to concede that fact. He’s just another sore loser. Give it up Mr. Griffin!
