HUNTERSVILLE — Lake Norman Charter won 10 of 11 events and cruised to victory in the South Piedmont Conference Championships on Tuesday.
Central Cabarrus won one event at the Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatic Center.
Lake Norman Charter amassed 654 points. Next were Northwest Cabarrus (384), Concord (352), Central Cabarrus (340), East Rowan (244), Robinson (145), South Rowan (118), Carson (38) and West Rowan (16).
Rodney Hawkins III had the highest individual finish for the Mustangs.He was fifth in 500 free (5:44).
Hawkins was eighth in the 200 IM. Brett Steelman was eighth in the 50 free and 100 free. Cole Humphreys was eighth in 200 free. Will Kesler was eighth in the 100 breaststroke.
East’s Clayton Lowe, Humphreys, Steelman and Hawkins took fifth in the 400 free relay.
Marshal Faw was the standout for South Rowan. He was fourth in the 50 free (24.78 seconds) and the 100 free (57.22).
Jack Smith’s ninth-place finish in the 500 free was the top individual effort for Carson.
Wayne Hall was a one-man team for the Falcons. He was 10th in the 500 free and 12th in the 50 free.
