This story has been updated to correct the time on the Salisbury shooting.

Two separate, as yet unrelated, shootings occurred overnight in two different communities, according to police.

At 1 a.m. East Spencer police responded to a shooting on Earnhardt Street where a party had been going on. Police say three were injured and one person was taken to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem due to the serious nature of the injuries.

That investigation has been taken over by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

At 3:10 a.m.. there was a reported shooting at Krispy Kreme on West Iinnes Street in Salisbury. Police say one person went to Novant in Rowan with a gunshot wound but that his injuries were not life threatening. Police were still on the scene investigating early this morning.

Both investigations are ongoing and at this time, there is no indication these incidents were connected.
