A grief support group, “Grief With a Side of Pancakes,” is planned for February in China Grove.
During the brunch, the common thread between pancakes and grief will be explored and explained. The event will also provide an opportunity to enjoy good food and fellowship.
The group meeting, scheduled for Feb. 15 from 10-11:30 a.m., is free; however, registration is required by Feb. 7. Register online at carolinacaring.org/support.
As noted in a release, this support group, sponsored by Carolina Caring, is for those who have experienced loss.
“Grief has no timetable,” said Cassidy Collins, marketing and communications coordinator with Carolina Caring; therefore, “all who have experienced a loss are welcome.”
This support brunch is offered several times a year in China Grove, along with other grief offerings, at the Carolina Caring Palliative Medicine Clinic, 301 E. Centerview Street, China Grove.
Justin Hendren, MDiv (master’s of divinity), will be leading the group, said Collins.
In order to provide ample time to share, she said they try to keep the number to 12 participants.
“Bereavement support has been a long-standing service of Carolina Caring,” said Collins. The nonprofit was founded in 1979 and serves 12 counties across western North Carolina, including Rowan.
