College women’s basketball: Catawba loses at Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. — Catawba’s women’s basketball team didn’t have a good day on Saturday and lost 60-55 at Limestone.

Only 98 people saw the South Atlantic Conference action unfold at the Timken Center.

The Indians (11-8, 9-6) led by 12 in the second quarter and by eight at halftime, but Limestone (10-8, 6-8) turned the game around with a surge to start the second half.

Catawba experienced a rough shooting day — 33 percent and 2-for-14 on 3-pointers. Limestone shot a little better — 35 percent with four 3-pointers.

The brightest spots for the Indians were Mary Spry (Carson) and Bailee Goodlett (North Rowan).

Spry had her best game of the season with 14 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.

Goodlett had 12 points, five rebounds and two steals.

Janiya Foskey had 10 points and six rebounds.

Catawba thrives off creating turnovers, but was only able to force 13.

Kalisha Hill scored 16 to lead the Saints.

Catawba will look to bounce back at home against Newberry on Wednedsay.
