A third shooting over the weekend is being investigated by Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, though it is unrelated to the two that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Rowan County deputies were called to a home in the 600 block of Sides Road about 8:35 p.m Sunday, January 26. They found the victim, Bennett Hough, with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Hough was able to speak with deputies when they arrived, telling them there had been an altercation with another individual that led to the shooting. Hough was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The case remains under investigation and more information will be released when it becomes available.
