It was a great day to read “Cold Mountain” or “In Cold Blood” at the South Rowan Branch of Rowan Public Library.
Temperatures at the library in Landis barely reached 60 degrees today because the heating system wasn’t working.
Beavers Brothers ordered a replacement part, and it was expected to arrive later in the day.
Library officials hoped to have things toasty again by the afternoon.
Outside temperatures this morning (Friday) were around the freezing mark.
Suzanne White, public services manager for the library, said patrons and staff were wearing sweaters and jackets until the problem, first identified earlier in the week, was fixed.
People planning to visit the library over the weekend should find a warm library, she said, making this inside cold snap one for the books.
