Kannapolis police investigators have released the picture of an unusual hat worn by the man who robbed a convenience store Monday night.
Police officials are asking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
“The … photo does not show the suspect’s face but shows a unique style hat the suspect was wearing,” according to the Kannapolis Police Department release.
The robbery occurred about 9 p.m. Monday when a black man entered the BP Convenience Store at 2170 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. He “displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk,” according to a Police Department release.
Previously, police officials said the man got away with an undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen running south toward Indiana Street.
Besides the hat, officials say the suspect is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 185 pounds.
