Summer free feeding program starts Monday

The Rowan-Salisbury Schools will participate in the Summer Food Service Program and provide free meals to children at 30 sites around the county.
To be eligible for free meals, children’s families must meet the same federal income guidelines set for free or discounted school lunches.
Households that receive food stamps or benefits under the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program are automatically eligible.
Sites served by the Summer Food Service Program include three branches of the YMCA, four housing authority sites, several Salisbury recreation programs, Arc/Rowan sites and six schools.Breakfast is served from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, beginning next Monday. Lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on those days also.
