CHINA GROVE ó Concerned about the traffic situation at Carson High School, town officials are considering buying a traffic light.
Barbara Welter, wife of Aldermen Allen Welter, appealed to the Board of Aldermen this week to put a traffic light as the No. 1 priority in the town’s new budget.
But a top county official said the N.C. Department of Transportation won’t allow a traffic light at N.C. 152 and Kress Ventures Drive, the entrance to the school.
If the state would allow a traffic light, Commissioner Jim Sides said the county would have already bought one.
