Three-vehicle wreck sends mother and son to Rowan

Three people were taken to area hospitals after a three-vehicle wreck Monday afternoon at the intersection of Jake Alexander Boulevard and Faith Road.
Amy Shaver and her 3-year-old son were transported to Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Sherry Miller was flown by helicopter to Carolinas Medical Center.
According to Salisbury Police Chief Mark Wilhelm, the accident occurred around 12:30 p.m.
Shaver and her son were in a 2003 Honda Civic going west on Jake Alexander Boulevard.
According to police reports, she approached a traffic light which was green and continued on.
Miller, driving a 1994 Jeep south on Faith Road, failed to stop for the red light.
The Honda Civic struck the Jeep, causing it to flip over onto a 2004 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Phillip Snipes, that was stationary at the intersection.
