Annual summer early services at Historic Organ Lutheran Church in eastern Rowan County will resume at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
The services will be held in the old 1790s church building, located at 1515 Organ Church Road, 10 miles from Salisbury. Services will be held every Sunday in June, July and August with the exception of Aug. 10 (the church’s annual homecoming celebration).
Worship services are open to the public. Light refreshments are served in the outdoor shelter immediately following the service.
The Rev. Terrell G. Long is pastor of the congregation. Worship services in the new church (built in 1960) are at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday morning.
Group tours of the historic church are also available anytime during the week by calling the church office as well.

Mt. Moriah Lutheran
CHINA GROVE ó A bake sale and auction will be held today, beginning 10 a.m., sponsored by the Parish Nightingales Parish Nurse Ministry, of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church, 750 Mount Moriah Church Road, China Grove.
Homemade baked goods will be for sale along with ham biscuits for breakfast and hot dogs for lunch.
The auction will include household items, furniture and collectibles.
Proceeds will be used toward improving handicapped access to the church facilities. Thrivent Financial will be providing some matching funds.

New Beginning
SPENCER ó The New Beginning Community Christian Church family under the leadership of their founder, Elder Eric Henley Sr. and First Lady Sheila Henley will be celebrating its eighth annual Founder’s Day in June. The Church is located at 318 Eighth St. in Spencer.
Events have been planned throughout the month of June.
On June 1, Bishop Steve Carlton of No Walls Ministry in Charlotte will be the Founder’s Day speaker at 4 pm. He will be accompanied by his choir, ushers and congregation.
On June 8, Pastor John Gerald from Gethsemane Baptist Church in Charlotte will be the Family and Friends Day speaker at 4 p.m. along with his choir and congregation.
The ceremonies culminate on June 22 at 4 p.m. Pastor John McCullough of Friendship Christian Church in Gastonia will be the guest pastor, accompanied by his choir and congregation. The Member’s Appreciation service will be held.
The public is invited to attend all services.

COOLEEMEE ó Sunday at 3 p.m., the Pastor’s Aide Ministry will have its annual “Twelve Tribes of Israel” presentation. Appointed persons will serve as captains to lead each tribe. Church in the Park
Three Presbyterian churches ó Franklin, Trinity and Second of Salisbury ó are joining to sponsor “Church in the Park” Sunday at Dan Nicholas Park.
The celebration will begin with a worship service at 11 a.m. at the Outdoor Theater followed by a covered dish lunch at shelter 1.
Music will be provided by the Praise Team of Second Presbyterian Church and musicians from the other churches.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Lemuel Garcia-Arroyo, the associate Presbyter for the Central Neighborhood in the Salem Presbytery.
A native of Mexico, Lemuel is a fourth generation Presbyterian, who graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 1996 at the Presbyterian Pan American School in Kingsville, Texas, where he served as chaplain and Bible teacher. Since then, he served as associate executive of multicultural ministries of the Synod of the Sun and in many communities of the Presbyterian Church USA.
He and his wife, Egla, have two children.
The public is invited to this special worship service. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at picnic shelter 1.
Word of Life
The Word of Life Worship Center will have its annual graduation service to recognize college and high school graduates Sunday during the 11 a.m. service.
This year’s college graduates are Shavon Neely, Western Carolina University, daughter of Alvratta Chambers and Albert Neely; Princess Valentine, North Carolina State University, the daughter of Nathan Valentine and Candy Valentine; James Wilson Jr., Catawba College, the son of Deborah Harris.
