CONCORD ó Rape charges against a Concord firefighter have been dropped after a grand jury deemed the evidence against him was too weak.
Robert Lee Hagy, 27, of 2730 Heidelberg, Concord, went back to work last week, Concord Fire Chief Randy Holloway said.
“He has been reinstated based on all the charges being dropped,” Holloway said.
Hagy was placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the investigation’s outcome.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged Hagy with second-degree rape and second-degree sexual offense after a March incident between Hagy and a woman he knew.
Hagy has been with the Concord Fire and Life Safety Department for three years.
