UNC-TV’s statewide news magazine, “North Carolina Now” will spotlight the Center for the Environment at Catawba College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
The feature story focuses on the work of the center, mentioning the upcoming interfaith conference, “Faith, Spirituality and Environmental Stewardship.” The conference is scheduled for May 29-31.
The reporter interviewed Center Director John Wear as well as students in the Environmental Program. The camera crew also filmed in the 189-acre ecological preserve that is adjacent to the Center for the Environment building.
“We are delighted that Shannon Vickery, UNC-TV’s executive producer, decided to feature the center,” says Wear. “It’s quite a tribute to the work we have done in the region. I want to applaud the efforts of everyone who has been engaged in the center’s activities over the years. They have made an incredible difference in the success of our efforts.
“I was also glad that the reporter interviewed two of our students,” Wear says. “A significant part of our mission is to provide the students in our program a value-added education. It’s one of the things that set us apart from other programs.”
