Clinton to stop in Concord after Salisbury visit

Democratic presidential contender U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton has added a Concord stop to her swing through the state today.
Clinton will stop at 4:30 p.m. at Troutman’s Barbecue, 362 Church St. N., in Concord.
The stop will come between her 3 p.m. stop at the Salisbury Depot and her 6 p.m. appearance at a rally at Time Warner Cable Arena (formerly the Charlotte Bobcats Arena) in Charlotte.
Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea, will join her for the Charlotte rally.
Anyone wanting to attend the Clinton event at the Depot here today will go through metal detectors.
The Clinton campaign is advising against bringing signs or bags.
With showers in the weather forecast, the event will be under the covered section adjacent to the tracks. Entry to the site will be from the Council Street side.
After the Salisbury event, Clinton supporters will meet at George’s Italian Grill, 124 E. Innes St., from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Former President Bill Clinton is also making a return trip to the state with several appearances Tuesday and Wednesday.
Clinton will visit Boone, Wilkesboro, Elkin and Mount Airy on Tuesday. He will make stops in Apex, Sanford, Lillington, Dunn, Hope Mills, Lumberton and Whiteville on Wednesday.
