Rowan Vocational Workshop has new leader

Retired West Rowan High School Principal John Williams has been named the new director of Rowan Vocational Opportunities.
The Rowan Vocational Opportunities board of directors announced this morning that it selected Williams to replace Carl Repsher, who will retire this summer.
Williams is married to Patty Williams, a member of the Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education.
John Williams received undergraduate and masterís degrees from Appalachian State University as well as additional post graduate degrees from N.C. A&T State University and Appalachian.
Since retiring six months ago, Williams has been working at South Rowan High School.
He will begin his new job in June.
John and Patty Williams have a 26-year-old daughter and are active members of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoys sports and activities around the home.
Rowan Vocational Opportunities is a United Way agency that provides vocational and life skills training to more than 185 people with disabilities in Rowan, Cabarrus, Davie and Davidson counties.
