Gilmore inducted
Phillip M. Gilmore of Spencer has been inducted into Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society at N.C. Central University in Durham.
The society is for students who earn grade-point averages of 3.5 or above during at least one semester of their freshman year.

Kerianne Springer of China Grove has been named to the winter term dean’s list at Furman University in Greenville, S.C., for earning a 3.4 or hinger grade-point average.
